Agreed! I guess a question is whether the public will become blind and insensitive to those of us who actually are willing to spend the 10000 hours to understand the art form. But does anyone of the billions of photographers care and can they tell the difference?
This captures my thoughts exactly. In asia (where I live) one of the largest past times is taking iphone shots of your food at the restaurant! Give me a break. I know very few digital photographers who really love the process of making images.

I agree. I a quite tired of viewing 2/3 heads mugging the camera against a dark background. Those are not portraits but images of the young and drunk.
