Hiatus
After much consideration I have decided to take a hiatus from The Figital Revolution and work on some other, long-neglected projects. With 345 posts and now nearly 30,000 hits a month FR has been an exciting ride, far exceeding my initial expectations, and I hope providing valuable thought-provoking information on the hybrid workflow and the future of the photographic medium.
What about Caffenol C?
The Caffenol C process video/book is on hold; all funds donated to FR to help support the Caffenol C project have been refunded in full. However, this information and more is available in the form of private one-on-one study here at Indian Hill Imageworks in Vermont or as an online Skype workshop series. Please feel free to contact me for more information or, even better, sign up for the free IHIW Newsletter to keep up to date on upcoming workshops, exhibitions and more.
What about the store?
All store items such as The Y Strap, Bare Bone Bag (BBB), Wrist Wonder and the NO POD will continue in full production.
What about the articles?
All articles, videos and audio recordings found here on FR will remain posted as a valuable reference for the foreseeable future.
Viva la Revolution-
Stephen

Hi Stephen,
I was wondering what’s going on here (or better what’s not)? After returnning my donation and listening to the corresponding audio comment some weeks ago, I already was worrying something like this might happen.
I hope there will be more posts that will encourage you to carry on. This has been the most interessting and easily the most knowledgable analogue photo blog I have come across and I’m sure a lot of people feel the same.
So please let it be just a hiatus not an end!
Kind regards
Christian Wiesel, Hamburg
Wow, Stephen. This is such a shock to me. I really looked forward to your new posts and video/audio blogs.
Good luck in your personal work.
Sorry to hear this. I was just getting back into using film again after being digital for the last 5 years. So much good info here. Using TRI-X at variable ISO up to 1600? Pure gold.
I sincerely hope you don’t give up on it completely.
Stephen,
I’m really sorry to hear this, but I understand how hard it must be to keep up with all your projects and activities, and I know web work takes a lot of time.
Thanks so much for being not only an incredible resource (and for leaving it live), but also for the inspiration and ideas, and for sharing your work and your thoughts.
I’m hoping you’ll come back to us agian in the not too distant future.
Regards,
Dan Murano
Extremely sorry to hear this sad news also.
I also hope after a short break you might reconsider your decision Stephen. I thought FR would carry on growing and that in time maybe you would add a FR forum and other stuff, people really are turning back to film right now. I even found a new lab in my home town and they are running at high volume thanks to mainly local colleges etc.
Please don’t give up on FR Stephen!
If you do then that’s totally your decision and one which I will respect. If it does come to that I would like to thank you for all your endeavours on FR, you made a difference, a large difference. Even people like Ken Rockwell, Steve Huff and others with photo blogs have returned to film and helping/advising others to do so now. Is this not wonderful?
just wanted to thank you for all the info. Reading the site everyday for the last year encouraged me to start processing bw film in my laundry room late at night. I have always shot film, but processing by hand has opened me up to new photographic possibilities and has taught me so much about how to shoot. I will miss the site. Good luck with everything Stephen!
also, I love my wrist wonder and will probably need more for other cameras. camera in hand is the only way to go.
