I’ve been using it for many years. I have an old SD camera (Sony TRV-17) and I cannot adjust recording levels. This mic has always been reliable for ANY audio needs that I’ve had, especially for live music. As Stephan mentioned above – for capturing clear dialogue in a noisy environment, of course a good shotgun is ideal. But for everything else, I highly recommend this $100 mic. (I don’t work for Sony, nor do I sell them.) :-)
